Training

There are many different ways to train your dog, whether he or she is a puppy, rescue or purchased from a breeder.

Treat based training, clicker training, non-treat based training and training using tools to help.  Personally, I wanted something easy.  There are complicated techniques from gurus, but I just wanted my dog to listen and follow commands…something easy.  I wasn’t going to have a big dog that wouldn’t listen or walk on a leash.

The goal is to help your dog understand what we, as humans, expect of them.  We brought them into our home and it’s our job to teach them how to live in our world.  Every dog is different and will learn at a different pace, but practice and persistence do pay off!  And, it’s not always going to be easy!

You have to commit to take the time and work with your dog a few times a day.  Some dogs pick up commands easier than others…be patient, loving and give lots of praise for even the smallest feat!

ZACK GEORGE is a treat based trainer that does not use tools in training (prong collar or e collar).  I trained my Rottweiler, Maximus, using many of these methods.
